Taylor draws from a range of influences—including the Maroon people, descendants of Africans who freed themselves from slavery, and wildlife species in her home state of Florida. Her multimedia works integrate photo-imagery with intricate peyote stitching used by Indigenous beaders as well as sewing techniques learned from Black elders. These processes offer a way to reflect on the past, tapping into collective memories and cultural narratives to speak on both individual and communal levels.

Gleaming showcases elements of Black diaspora culture, such as music videos, books, and fashion, as Taylor considers what it means to be a Black womxn navigating the sophisticated nature of belonging and self-expression.

" />
Alex Katz: Theater and Dance explores six decades of the New York painter’s dynamic collaborations with choreographers and avant-garde theater groups, offering an exciting glimpse into the intersection of the visual and performing arts. The exhibition showcases how the artist’s distinctive style—marked by bold compositions, vibrant colors, and references to popular culture—helped shape the look of American postmodern dance. Featuring rare archival materials, major sets, paintings, and never-before-seen sketches, the show is the first to highlight this underexamined aspect of Katz’s storied career, centered on his longstanding partnership with choreographer Paul Taylor.

" />
Gregg Laananen is a self-taught artist living and working in the Skagit Valley in the Pacific Northwest. His artwork is primarily informed by observations made directly from nature. His imagery is discovered through processes of drawing, material investigation, and the role of chance and the intuition, the latter of which was highly regarded by late artist friend and mentor, Ed Kamuda.

The exhibition, Up River, celebrates Laananen’s devotion to those rural and remote places further East in the mountains and along the Skagit River drainage. Inspired by lush forests and mountains, waterfalls and flumes, swans and ferns, Laananen creates new images from a familiar world in which we find connection and meaning.

" />
